Synopsis
Doctor Cha follows Cha Jung-sook (Uhm Jung-hwa), a former medical graduate who gave up her career to become a full-time housewife for 20 years. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she decides to return to her medical residency, reigniting her passion for medicine.
Meanwhile, her husband, Seo In-ho (Kim Byung-chul), a respected doctor, maintains a dual life, hiding his affair with Choi Seung-hee (Myung Se-bin) from Jung-sook. As Jung-sook navigates the challenges of restarting her career, she uncovers her husband’s betrayal, leading to personal growth and newfound independence.
The series explores themes of empowerment, family dynamics, and self-discovery. Jung-sook’s journey is supported by Roy Kim (Min Woo-hyuk), a charismatic surgeon who develops feelings for her. The season culminates in Jung-sook confronting her husband’s infidelity and choosing to prioritize her own happiness and aspirations over societal expectations.
