Synopsis
Happiness follows Yoon Sae-bom (Han Hyo-joo), a Special Operations Unit member, and Jung Yi-hyun (Park Hyung-sik), a detective, who enter a contract marriage to secure a luxury apartment in a stratified complex.
Their lives unravel when a failed pneumonia drug, Next, triggers the Lytta Virus, causing infected individuals to experience bloodlust and regress into zombie-like states. After Sae-bom is scratched by an infected recruit, she discovers her immunity and teams up with Yi-hyun to contain the outbreak within their building, where class tensions and paranoia escalate. Han Tae-seok (Jo Woo-jin), a military officer, exploits Sae-bom’s antibodies to develop a cure, while Yi-hyun uncovers the drug’s origins—a pharmaceutical company’s greed-driven scheme.
The season culminates in a desperate bid to survive as the virus spreads, with Sae-bom and Yi-hyun fighting to protect their community and expose the truth.
