Synopsis
Juvenile Justice Season 1 is a gritty legal drama set in South Korea’s juvenile court system. The story centers on Shim Eun-seok, a highly principled and coldly efficient judge infamous for her harsh stance against young offenders-a perspective shaped by her own traumatic experience as a victim of juvenile crime.
Appointed to the Yeonhwa District Juvenile Court, Eun-seok is partnered with the compassionate Judge Cha Tae-ju. Throughout the 10-episode season, the pair confront a series of complex and disturbing cases, including child murder, abuse, sexual assault, and crimes among privileged youths.
As Eun-seok navigates these cases, she is forced to confront her biases and grapple with the tension between retribution and rehabilitation.
The show explores not only the legal and ethical dilemmas of juvenile justice but also the societal factors that contribute to youth crime, ultimately challenging both its protagonist and viewers to reconsider what it means to deliver true justice
