Synopsis
She Was Pretty is a romantic comedy that tells the story of Kim Hye-jin, who was once a beautiful, popular girl from a wealthy family. After her family’s bankruptcy and a dramatic change in her looks, Hye-jin struggles with low self-esteem and works menial jobs while seeking stable employment. Her childhood friend and first love, Ji Sung-joon, who was once awkward and bullied, has grown into a handsome, successful man. When Sung-joon returns to Korea and asks to meet, Hye-jin, embarrassed by her appearance, convinces her glamorous best friend, Min Ha-ri, to pretend to be her. Fate intervenes when Hye-jin lands a job at a fashion magazine where Sung-joon is her boss, forcing her to navigate a web of mistaken identity, workplace challenges, and evolving relationships. As secrets unravel and true identities are revealed, Hye-jin embarks on a journey of self-acceptance and love.
