Synopsis
Stranger 2 picks up two years after Season 1, with Hwang Shi-mok (Cho Seung-woo) and Han Yeo-jin (Bae Doona) navigating heightened tensions between prosecutors and police over investigative rights.
A joint council clashes over authority, while Shi-mok and Yeo-jin investigate a kidnapping involving Seo Dong-jae (Lee Joon-hyuk) and a foggy beach death linked to Hanjo Group’s corruption. New characters emerge: Choi Bit (Jeon Hye-jin), Yeo-jin’s mentor, and Lee Yeon-jae (Yoon Se-ah), Hanjo’s ruthless chairwoman, who exploits power to protect her company.
The season unravels a web of institutional rot, including police bullying, university student deaths, and a conspiracy involving Yoon Se-won (Lee Kyu-hyung), a jailed prosecutor from Season 1. Shi-mok and Yeo-jin face internal betrayal, questioning their ethics as they expose systemic corruption, though their efforts leave them ostracized as “traitors” by peers.
