The First Responders Season 01 (Episode 12 Added) | Korean Drama

Synopsis

Season 1 balances gritty realism with emotional depth, anchored by its leads’ chemistry. Kim Rae-won’s Ho Gae brings intensity to the role of a detective willing to bend rules for justice, while Gong Seung-yeon’s Seol humanizes the paramedic’s trauma through quiet vulnerability.

The series excels in blending procedural thrills with character-driven arcs, though pacing falters in later episodes with rushed subplots (e.g., the abrupt resolution of a seven-year-old kidnapping case). Director Shin Kyung Soo’s use of high-stakes emergencies—from mall fires to hostage crises—keeps tension palpable, even if some twists feel contrived.

While the season ends on a cliffhanger with Do Jin’s death, it sets the stage for Season 2’s revenge-driven narrative. A solid, if uneven, start to a compelling first-responder saga.
