“The Walking Dead” (Season 3), airing on AMC from October 14, 2012, to March 31, 2013, thrusts Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his survivors into a brutal new chapter. After fleeing Hershel’s overrun farm, the group—now including Hershel (Scott Wilson), Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Glenn (Steven Yeun), and a pregnant Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies)—takes refuge in an abandoned prison. Rick’s leadership hardens as he faces internal strife and external threats, notably the Governor (David Morrissey), a charismatic yet sadistic leader of Woodbury, a fortified town.
Michonne (Danai Gurira) emerges as a katana-wielding loner with ties to the Governor’s secrets, while the season tracks the birth of Rick’s daughter Judith, Lori’s death, and a war between the prison and Woodbury, testing loyalty and sanity in a walker-filled world.
