“Vidaamuyarchi” (2025) is a Tamil-language action thriller inspired by the 1997 Hollywood film Breakdown. The story follows Arjun (Ajith Kumar), a man living in Azerbaijan with his wife Kayal (Trisha Krishnan). Their seemingly peaceful road trip takes a dark turn when Kayal mysteriously disappears, thrusting Arjun into a desperate search.

As he uncovers a web of deception involving a ruthless gang—including the menacing Rakshith (Arjun Sarja) and the unpredictable Deepika (Regina Cassandra)—Arjun must rely on his wits and resilience to rescue his wife and survive the ordeal.

Trisha Krishnan holds her own as Kayal, though her screen time is limited, while Arjun Sarja and Regina Cassandra steal scenes as the antagonistic duo—Cassandra, in particular, brings a wild, psychotic energy that’s a standout. The Azerbaijan backdrop, captured by Om Prakash’s stunning cinematography, adds a fresh visual appeal, and Anirudh Ravichander’s score elevates the tension, even if it’s underutilized in parts.
