Synopsis
Be Melodramatic is a slice-of-life romantic comedy that follows the intertwined lives of three best friends in their 30s: Lim Jin-joo (Chun Woo-hee), Lee Eun-jung (Jeon Yeo-been), and Hwang Han-joo (Han Ji-eun). Jin-joo, an aspiring screenwriter, secures her first major project while navigating a budding romance with her director, Son Beom-soo (Ahn Jae-hong).
Eun-jung, a successful documentary filmmaker, struggles with unresolved grief over her fiancé’s death while creating a new project about a celebrity. Han-joo, a single mother and marketing professional, balances her demanding career and parenting with humor and resilience.
Through their careers, relationships, and personal challenges, the trio supports each other while exploring themes of friendship, healing, and self-discovery. The series uses a “show within a show” format to cleverly mirror their lives.
